Michelle Shannon was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. She started her dance training at the age of 2 at Toni Lynn's Dance Studio and continued with numerous studios in the following years. For almost two decades, she has studied various dance styles such as acro, tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop and contemporary. Up until her sophomore year in high school, Michelle was a competitive dancer, performing and competing in competitions including but not limited to: the Pulse On Tour, Intrigue Dance Intensive, Access Broadway and New York Dance Competition. Along side her passion for dance, she began her career in musical theatre at the age of 10, working with companies such as Maltz Jupiter Theatre and Bob Carter's Actor's Repertory.
Michelle has proudly trained under renowned choreographers such as Carlos de Barros, Traci-Ann Pearce, Maria Conrad and Rhonda Johnson in contemporary and modern styles. She additionally furthered her training in tap, working with choreographers such as Jordan Lefton, along with the world renowned Avi Miller and Ofer Ben at the Big Apple Tap Festival in New York City. She attended A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts for dance and musical theatre all four years of high school. While attending school at Dreyfoos, Michelle had the good fortune to work with many talented teachers and choreographers including Christopher Huggins, Jennifer Archibald, Jeff Satinoff and Jan Hanniford-Goetz.
Michelle joined Sean's Dance Factory in 2014 and began extensively training in styles of hip hop with instructors such as Flaco Luna, Karlito Cineas, Mikey Pesante and of course the amazing Sean Green. Michelle is proud to have competed in four World of Dance competitions with them and place 1st in NYC 2017. Now 21 years old, Michelle teaches several styles of dance such as contemporary, Hiphop and tap. Michelle ultimately strives to expand her professional dance career and training, while sharing her passion and skills with the younger generation of aspiring artists.
